Wounded

Wound trickled in every layer of my mind

Make it cease

Yet I cannot

I hang on to what I wish would go

Far away and disappear

Yet it stays

Within me I know it takes time

Sometimes not knowing if it will ever escape

And let me be free

They say you have the power to free yourself

But how do you free your mind

No matter how positive you try to be

One thing never leaves

The past

It stares back at you

Only to haunt you forever

The past stays and preys on the present but we can learn to use that to grow, learn about ourselves, accept what has been and look forward to what is to come. Let the past be a guide for what you want to change. Accept the past and you’ll accept the future.

I hope you reach a point of healing, if you are in that situation 🙂 The past has its own way of healing through time and ourselves. It takes hard work and time. my best wishes Sara.

Thank you. I am aware healing takes time and we all just have to find a way to stay in the present moment even when the past tries to come knock at the door of our minds again. You are kind for taking the time to read my Poetry and also share your insight. Best wishes to you as well! 🙂
